Karen Alexanian Benger is a graduate of Merrimack College (1993) and Massachusetts School of Law (1997). Karen began working for Finbury, Sullivan, & Benger in 1994 throughout law school and she began practicing law in 1997. She became a partner of this firm in 2003. Karen is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys, the American Association for Justice and the Massachusetts Association of Guardians Ad Litem, Inc.

Karen concentrates her practice in all areas of domestic relations law, including divorce, paternity, child custody, child visitation, child support, spousal support, prenuptial agreements, co-habitation agreements, domestic violence issues and enforcement and modifications of family law orders. She regularly practices in Essex County; as well as in Middlesex, Suffolk, Worcester and other surrounding counties. Karen also volunteers time to the Essex County Probate and Family Court for the Attorney of the Day program for low-income individuals who are unable to afford representation.

Family law issues are often contentious and not easily resolved. These cases come with a level of anxiety and emotions that require the attention of an experienced attorney who truly cares about your case. Karen recognizes the sensitive nature of family related issues and provides her clients with the individualized attention they need. In cases where an agreement is a possibility Karen will attempt to negotiate a resolution. If no resolution is forthcoming she will be prepared for trial and she will fight for your rights.

You may contact our office to schedule an initial consultation with Karen for FREE. Your initial consultation will allow you the opportunity to meet her and discuss your legal rights. Thereafter, if you contract her services, her fees are billed on an hourly basis. She requires a retainer to begin representation. The amount of the retainer depends on several factors including the issues involved in your case and the current status of your case.
