If you are disabled and unable to work, there is help available from the U.S. government. The government does have stringent requirements for assuring you are disabled. Our lawyers can help you through the process and procedures for SSDI and SSI.

Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits: If you are disabled and unable to work, if that disability has kept you from working for a year, you may be eligible for SSDI benefits. SSDI is an earned benefit. You need to have a work history (including reported income) of a least 40 quarters (10 years). The monetary benefit is capped at $2200 per month. SSDI includes Medicare.

Supplemental Security Income (SSI): If you are disabled and unable to work, but do not have a work history of 40 quarters, you may be eligible for SSI. SSI is capped at $700 per month and includes Medicaid in New Hampshire and Massachusetts Health in Massachusetts.
